Today we drive to Downings, stopping in Derry City and An Grianan of Aileach. We take a guided walking tour around Derry city’s famous walls and learn about its fascinating history.
After lunch we leave Derry and visit the remarkable stone fort of An Grianan of Aileach. This ancient fort is believed to have been built in 1400BC and is 780ft above sea level, giving breathtaking views over Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle.
We leave An Grianan and drive to the quaint fishing village of Downings where we spend the afternoon exploring the beaches and relaxing.
